I recently got to do the neatest thing. I’m still smiling and thanking God when I think of it:
I got to host a face to face interview with Robin Jones Gunn. Ahhhhh!
Robin is the author of the Glenbrooke series (where I first read and fell in love with her writing), the Christy Miller series, the Sisterchick series, Victim of Grace, Praying for your Future Husband, the Father Christmas novellas that became Hallmark movies, and her newest book (which I loved!)…
When I saw that Robin was mentoring and giving the keynote address at the same writer’s conference I had registered for in Minnesota, I asked her if she’d do an interview with me while we were there.
She said yes!
Not only did I get to meet her and hug her, I also got to enjoy the most beautiful conversation with her. Would you like to join in? (After you do, be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this blog to enter the giveaway.) Here it is:
My Interview with Robin Jones Gunn
Robin was just as sunny, warm, and friendly in person as she is online. I like her. : )
GIVEAWAY TIME!
To thank Robin for the lovely interview and to spread reading joy, I’m giving away a copy of Becoming Us.
Description:
From the author of the best-selling Christy Miller and Sisterchicks series comes a refreshing novel that celebrates the gift of friendship.
Five young women, including beloved Gunn characters Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen, gather for a simple Christmas party and soon become unlikely best friends. Told from the viewpoint of Emily, a timid young mom going through a difficult season of life, the regular gatherings provide the much needed community she’s longed for. As the women begin sharing their life stories in Becoming Us they are endeared to each other and find ways to challenge, encourage, and help each other become the nurturing mothers they wished they’d had when they were growing up. They see themselves as Haven Makers and unite to be remembered for what they do and not for what was done to them.

Thanks so much!
Kindness – we never really know what others might be going through, and just the simple act of showing you care can make a difference.
So true, Susanne. <3
I try to plant seeds of joy. That no matter our circumstances we have a joy inside that comes from knowing God and all He gives us!
Love that, Melissa. <3 Such a comfort no matter what we are going through!
I just try to be thoughtful and show kindness—paying attention to what people need and how I can help with it, remembering things about people, etc.
That’s beautiful, Kristy! I’m sure your friends and the people around you have felt so loved and cared for. <3
To be positive, it’s something I struggle with at times.
