Why I Chose These Books as Giveaways

The Lacemaker by Laura Frantz

Because I had to! Laura is one of my FAVORITE authors—as a writer and as a person. The Lacemaker, her most recent novel, is currently a finalist for the Christy Award!!! I’m not surprised. I read it last January as an after-Christmas reward, and it was wonderful. It kept me up past 1:00 a.m. two nights in a row. : ) I love the romance, the history, the emotion, and even the food… <3  If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. Enchanted: A Christmas Collection by Melissa Tagg

Isn’t the cover gorgeous? I read the first novella in this contemporary romance set with a small group of friends a few Christmases ago at the recommendation of book-blogger (and so much more) Carrie Schmidt. Carrie responded to my “It’s my turn to pick the Christmas novella; what should I pick?!” tweet, and I’m so glad she did. We all loved it! Super cute, fun, light, and just perfect for Christmas. Melissa’s charming novella grew to a collection of three, and the third, One Enchanted Noel, just won the Carol Award in the Novella category. Woohoo!! I can’t wait to read the final installment! And I’m so happy to share the delightful collection with one of you. (Click the book cover for further description.)

Engraved on the Heart by Tara Johnson

I gave this new-to-me author a try last summer and absolutely loved her! Engraved on the Heart is a Civil War romance filled with danger, romance, relatable characters, and plenty of deep themes for book clubs to discuss—my book club loved it! Tara is a pretty great person, too. She even put up with me as a roommate at the American Christian Fiction Writers conference last month!! 😉 (Click the book cover for more plot and character description.)
