Lynn Austin Interview and Giveaway: Love, Finding Your Calling, and Secondary Infertility

One of the highlights of my last year was getting to meet and interview Christy-Award-Hall-of-Fame author, Lynn Austin. She’s won many awards, but my favorite achievement by Lynn Austin is that she wrote A Proper Pursuit, one of my all-time favorite novels. (It is SOOO Good!!)

Of course, having met her, I now have so much more to love about her besides her amazing talent at transporting readers into captivating tales. She is so kind, relatable, and full of wisdom. Would you like to listen in to our conversation (and then perhaps add a comment of your own)?

Under the blue Florida sky, next to Lake Yale at the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference, we discussed:

  • Recognizing True Love
  • Finding Your Calling
  • Favorite Advice
  • Secondary Infertility
  • A Proper Pursuit
  • And More

Scroll down to watch the interview, and then ENTER THE GIVEAWAY! I’m giving away the winner’s choice of a copy of A Proper Pursuit (don’t miss this book!) or Chasing Shadows (a more recent novel of hers I loved)!

The Lynn Austin Interview

Don’t you love Lynn even more after listening? I so appreciated her willingness to share her experience and encouragement.

Before you enter the giveaway, here’s a little more about A Proper Pursuit:

Back Cover:

The World’s Fair.
Chicago, 1893.

It seems a perfect backdrop for what Violet Hayes longs to experience: a little mystery, a little romance.

To be honest, it is more than a little mystery. She schemed her way to Chicago to discover the mother she barely remembered. As for romance…well, with the help of her grandmother and three great-aunts, that is coming along nicely as well—perhaps too well. Each of her relatives—including her saintly grandmother—seems to have a separate agenda for her.

In the course of a summer, Violet’s world will open wide before her eyes. But in the wake of discovery, she must find a way to determine which path—and which man—will ultimately be the right lifetime choice for her.

  4. I loved this wonderful interview! Thank you, Jenny and Lynn.
When we are devastated, God is still at work. I was blessed by Lynn’s testimony, especially hearing how God used her during a season of infertility to be an instrument of help and life for others ❤️.
I mentioned on your other social media that I signed up for Lynn’s newsletter and would love a copy of Chasing Shadows. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity, Jenny!

    • Amen! That was my favorite part of the entire interview. And such an inspiration to see how God worked in her and through her during that hard time. He is faithful!

  5. I’d love to win a print copy of Chasing Shadows! Have been wanting to read it for a while already. . . Thanks for the opportunity to enter a giveaway! God bless!

    • You’re welcome! I hope you get the chance to read it soon!

  6. I’m already signed up for your newsletter; that’s how I first found out about this giveaway. I could so relate to her comments on infertility. It took us five years of trying to have our first child. What a wonderful response by opening up a crisis pregnancy center. I also felt like my faith was strengthened during that time and my husband and I had the chance to get to know each other better before children came into the picture, so looking back it ended up being a blessing even though it was so hard to go through. We ended up with four children so we were richly blessed. Choosing which book if I won sounds difficult because my father flew bombers in WWII and I love reading about that era, but if I had to, I’d choose A Proper Pursuit.

    • Wow, Dixie. Thank you for sharing. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. But I’m glad it ended up being a blessing and that you eventually ended up with four kids! It’s always so encouraging to hear about how God has brought people through hard times. Also…so thankful for your father’s service. <3 Blessings to your and your family! I hope you get to read one of these books (or both!) soon!

  7. I’m already subscribed to your newsletter. I’d love to win Chasing Shadows. It sounds so intriguing. I’m woefully behind on Lynn’s books. I need to remedy that!
